PREMIER CORD
DETONATING CORD

PREMIER CORDis a reliable, flexible, waterproof fuse with high tensile strength and abrasion resistance. It is an ideal means of transmitting detonation to an explosive charge.

Premiercord has a core of PETN (Penta Erythritol Tetra Nitrate) with two center cotton yarns to ensure continuous and uniform core charge. The core is encapsulated in a synthetic tape and is provided with Rayon Yarns and Cotton Yarns counterings. These provide the required tensile and jerk strength for reliability even in deep holes. Premiercord is provided with final PVC covering for ensuring waterproofness and abrasion resistance.

Features:
“ C E “ Certified
Premier cord contains uniform core load of PETN enclosed by a BOPP tape, wrapped with PP/cotton yarns and coated with PVC.
Very flexible to use.
Available in seven different standard core loads, but it can be tailor made in other core loads.
Advantage:
Relatively insensitive to detonation by friction, shock or electric discharge.
Excellent resistance to side penetration by water or oil.
High velocity of detonation.
High side brisance.
High tensile strength.
Uses :
5 g/mm core load detonating cord is generally used for secondary blasting/ plaster shooting both in opencast and under ground metal mines. Also used for trunk line connection in opencast mines, tie-up and initiation of shock tube detonator.
8,10 and 12 g/m core load detonating cord is used for down line connections, long hole blasting etc, for initiation of boosters and for trunk line connections also.
20, 40 and 80 g/m are used for special application such as seismic prospecting etc., smooth blasting in line hole drilling.
